Supporting sexually exploited youth was created by sexually exploited youth who felt that the support they were being offered was mainstream and not as relevant as it could be.  This presentation is excellent for Adult Students (all of the major universities in BC have recruited SEPP to deliver this workshop) or persons who currently work with or who desire to work with this population.

SEPP and its team have been involved in more than 11 research projects addressing issues of sex trade and sexual exploitation.  Through this experience (in most SEPP members were the interviewers and even created the questions and guidelines) we have developed a clear understanding of how to reach the population as well as how to research without causing harm.  You may also wish to consult with  the BCCEC website, a consortium of current and former sex workers whos ethics in research are truly raising the bar!  You will find many resources for researchers including a brochure for the interviewee.

Professional Development Course.
10 hours in 2 days or a condensed version of 8 hours in one day

1 facilitator and 1 assistant

By far the best training out there police from Vancouver, Victoria and Nelsn have received this training as have countless social workers, educators and community based organizations.  This training took over 5 years to develop, more than 300 students have evaluated the course in the last 2 years and every one of them have stated they recommend others receive this training.  The course is extremely in depth and covers the entire continuum of sexual exploitation.  Many organizations and community groups who receive this training use it as an opportunity to bring staff together.  The facilitators are that of the highest caliber who’s personal evaluations are extremely impressive.
